- Press MUTE on the remote control.
- If that didn’t work, check the connections on the back of the cable box and the TV.
- Still no luck? Check the audio setting on the cable box:
a. Press the Menu button
b. Go to Main Menu, then Setup, then Audio Setup
c. Choose Optimal Stereo and press the OK/select button.
We have also discovered this problem sometimes occurs when you turn on your TV while recording two programs at once. If you switch to your other recording, that may resolve the problem. If that doesn't work, you may need to stop the recording or power off the cable box (that will make your recording unavailable to access later). Sometimes the best solution is to wait until the recording is finished, as once the recording is complete the sound will come back on.
