BELD and SunRaise Investments, LLC (SunRaise), are happy to announce the completion of a new community shared solar project on Campanelli Drive in Braintree. SunRaise constructed, financed, and owns the 2,443.5-kilowatt project, which consists of more than 6,000 solar modules and is expected to generate 2.937 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity per year.
Braintree Electric Light Department was awarded American Public Power Association’s Energy Innovator Award at APPA’s national conference in New Orleans.
This award recognizes utility programs or projects that demonstrate advances in the development or application of creative, energy efficient techniques or technologies; provide better service to electric customers; or increase the efficiency of utility operations or resources. Judging criteria also includes transferability and takes into account project scope in relation to utility size.
May 3, 2018: Sturbridge, MA – The Municipal Electric Association of Massachusetts has announced that four outstanding municipal electric utility staff members have each been named 2018 Communicator of the Year as awarded by the Communications and Energy Services committee.
April, 30 2018 Braintree Electric Light Department (BELD) has been designated a Diamond “reliable public power provider” by the American Public Power Association. This “RP3” designation certifies that BELD has demonstrated leading practices in reliability, safety, workforce development, and system improvement.
