After two years of studying the industry, evaluating technologies and filing for special legislation, Braintree Electric Light Department received Town Meeting approval to move ahead with constructing a new power plant. BELD staff has begun the process of building a simple-cycle gas-fired power plant on land currently occupied by the retired Potter I Generating Station on Potter Road.

BELD officials will keep residents apprised of construction progress. Questions, comments or complaints may be directed to General Manager Bill Bottiggi at 781.348.1010 or the Municipal Light Board, whose monthly meeting dates are posted under the News and Alerts section of this website.
